PA34 Seneca V autopilot lateral modes sometimes do not follow instruction

$

The autopilot on my PA34 Seneca V is glitchy. Sometimes after takeoff I engage the HDG button and the aircraft turns to about 160 degrees to the left of where the bug is. I can still control the heading but it is coming nowhere near the bug, as I mentioned almost 180 degrees off. Also when I engage the GPS mode direct to somewhere it seems to take me direct to the VOR nearest the airport I just departed, not the programmed VOR. Both of these issues with the HDG and NAV happen always at the same time and the autopilot vertical guidance is always ok. The only way to fix this seems to be to reload the aircraft, and after obtaining clearance online and loading the fuel etc it is a pain to restart the flight. Any ideas??

HSI Problem RXPGNS 430

I have RXPGNS 430 installed on my Baron.  When I attempt a GPS approach the yellow HSI indicators appear but they are centered, and stay there.  I installed a generic HSI as a popup and it works fine.  Any suggestions?

Loud ear piercing beep/alarm

I was playing with the PA46T on a forced landing just for the sake of it and all of a sudden it started making this LOUD ear piercing beep that is like some sort of ALARM.

However, I did not see any indication as to WHY it sounds or even how to mute the alarm.

How to turn on the PFD after it has shut off?

I was making a play-flight with the PA46T just for fun due to shortage of time and in doing so I forgot to turn on the Alternator.

Sometime during flight (10 minutes I guess) my PFD shut off as well as other instruments. I turned on the Alternator after that major omission and most of the other instruments (Garmins) came to life again BUT the PFD however remained BLACK.

I did not find a way to turn the PFD back on again without resetting the flight. Obviously documentation is lacking. So, how do I do it if that happens?

PA46 Piper Malibu Before Starting Engine Checklist

The first in my series of posts about the checklists in hopes of filling in all the gaps that Carenado left off. First of all I don't really see what is the point of putting a checklist with items that are either inoperable or just not applicable to the simulation. I also noticed that some hotspot switches have a function different from what the panel label (in the VC) actually says.

So, for the list, those items with [X] I got covered, those with [?] I am unsure where to find them and those with [  ] are those that I believe do not apply to the simulated aircraft. Please correct me if I am mistaken please! I want to make a true checklist for this wonderful plane!

[  ] Pre Flight Check according AFM (what is AFM?)

[?] Door Pins (somebody said they should be green inside the door but I do not see them)

[  ] Seat Belts

[X] Parking Brake

[X] Gear Lever

[?] Emergency Gear Knob

[  ] Circuit Breakers

[X] ELT

[X] All Electrical Switches (I guess only those on the overhead)

[?] Radio Master Switch (tooltip says "Master Avionics")

[X] Alternate Static Source (I think underneath the main panel, Alt. Switch)

[  ] Cabin Altitude Selector (inoperable)

[X] Cabin Altitude Rate Control (dummy switch)

[?] Cabin Pressurization Control

[X] Cabin Dump Switch (overhead switches)

[?] Oxygen Pressure Gage

[  ] Oxygen masks

[?] Ground Clearance Switch

[X] ATIS (tune radio - IVAO/VATSIM)

[X] Startup Clearance (IVAO/VATSIM)

PA46 Piper Malibu Starting Engine Checklist

OK, on to the Starting Engines checklist of the Carenado Piper Malibu. This list seems to be more in line with the actual a/c simulation but there are a few items in it that I did not managed to find:

  • Fuel Firewal Shut Off Lever.
  • Fuel Xfer Pumps L&R
  • Manual Override Switch
  • Fuel Boost Pumps #1 & #2

PA46 Piper Malibu Unrecognized buttons on main panel

On the virtual cockpit's main panel just underneath the top of the dashboard there is a P46T plate and right underneath it there is some sort of LCD instrument with the following buttons, some have no tooltip (if it does it is in parenthesis) and some are inoperable. What do they actually do?

  • DTA - inop
  • BAR
  • ALT
  • ALR - inop
  • DH
  • VS
  • MAN - inop
  • INC/Tenths knob (Knob AP Select)

I have clicked on those in flight but did not see anything activating or changing anywhere. In fact that LCD even though it is lighted, it NEVER EVER displays ANYTHING.

And to this date Carenado does not have an official support forum?

Simply a shame that Carenado has not bothered to (a) Have their own support forums thus leaving it to the users to solve their issues and (B) they have never bothered to improve their release process so as to produce SUITABLE documentation.

Autopilot does not work

There are some things I don't like about the stability of this a/c and Carenado does not seem to do anything about it.

It is very difficult to get this plane stable, especially during climb. But the Autopilot is worse, it does not seem to work.

1. I clicked on the AP/FD switch until both AP and FD show as ON

2. I put the a/c on a climb to 6,000 feet and when I reach the cruise altitude I clicked on the AVSS ALT button, the LCD of the AVSS shows the ALT label.

Now, it is supposed to hold the altitude it had at the moment the button was pressed (6,000 ft) but it just keeps climbing and responding to the yoke if I choose to move it.

The VS also does not seem to work and is ambiguous in the sense that if it shows 6.8 you don't know if that is 6.8 ft/min or 680 ft/min or what. It also does not seem to respond to that either.

Almost lost my hearing with that LOUD ear piercing alarm of PA46T

I do not advise ANYBODY to use the Carenado Piper Malibu (PA46T) with earphones. There are circumstances (primarly descent/landing/takeoff) when an EXTREMELY LOUD EAR PIERCING alarm (beep beep beep) sounds and there is no way to mute it.

Gosh, the decibels on that thing should be prohibited, I had to yank off my earphones and I still have a headache!

Is there a way to mute that on the a/c? what about replacing it with a sound that is safe to people?

Clock & ETM gauges

$

As many of you know on the pilot's side almost obscured by the yoke there is a clock gauge. I was curious and looked it up, it turns out the gauge is the FlightCom DVR 300i clock & recorder. It records radio transmissions, useful when your mind isn't flexible enough for long clearances :) It also has a clock and elapsed timer that work from the moment the gauge is turned on (I think that is powered by the Avionics button?)

In the PA46T from Carenado this gauge is only switching between Zulu (24 hrs format) and Local (12 hrs format) time and nothing else that I know of, a crippled gauge.

For more information on its real counterpart visit http://www.manualslib.com/products/Flightcom-Dvr-300i-3554237.html

As for the Engine Trend Monitor (ETM) it is located on the copilot's side to the left of the yoke (like the clock on the pilot's side). It is manufactured by Shadin. The implemented gauge has several pages with useful information, obviously not as much as the real instrument.

The pilot's manual for this (real) gauge can be found at:

Low fps

I have experienced different Carenado aircraft with the G1000 cockpit. Performance difference is big among TBM850, CT182T and C208B Grand Caravan EX. For the first two, specially CT182T, fps has dips and lots of stuttering during flight. The C208B performs well, no dips, no suttering, stable fps (locked at 30). Did anybody else experienced this? Is there a fix, like replacing gauges form one to the other?

Can't figure out

I've been doing this flight sim thing for almost 30 years and have never ran into anything like this............SO.....any suggestions etc., would be most helpful.

I purchased FSX-SE several months back.....and slowly I've been putting my Flightsim back together again.

1st off.............Only FSX-SE on the system on a separate drive  (Drive E:\FSX...........that's the only thing on that solid state drive)

Next.....I installed FSX-SE....worked fine....and then started slowly installing scenery or aircraft one at a time....with an install .....fly ....then a reboot..........so it's taken a while to get to where I'm currently at.

The only scenery other than stock is Orbx......and I've stuck to regions instead of individual airports etc.  (Central Rookies.....Northern California.....Northern Rookies....Pacific Fjords...Pacific Northwest  England ...Ireland....Northern Ireland....Scotland...Wales...etc.)

I have added a few airports  but added FTX Global and FTX Vector also.

Aircraft.........Stuck mostly to aircraft I like.....A2A, RealAir, Carenado and Alabeo.......which brings me to the problem.

I purchased Alabeo D40 last evening.....very nicely done....had a lovely flight last evening and then again this morning.  Later in the day I tried to do a flight in Alabeo R44..........FSX-SE crashed...would not start.  Rebooted and tried again.....same thing.  Rebooted and started with FSX default flight......then tried to switch to the R44.......once again, it crashed.  Rebooted and started with a default flight....and tried the MicroSoft R22.......it crashed.

I tried over and over again and none of my helicopters would initialize...............VERY STRANGE!!!

Uninstalled the D40 .........rebooted and tried the R44............Presto......everything worked fine.  In fact........all my aircraft are fine.

Re-Installed the D40........started FSX-SE and selected the R44.............No problem..........switched to the D40.............FSX-SE Crashed............Tried several times and I cannot select the D40.

Sorry folks..........I'm at a complete loss on this one.....

Anyone have any ideas/suggestions?

Cheers,

I ran out of downloads in my support/files... now what?

My download limit exceeded and I have no downloads. I hope I won't have to re purchase the product again.

Thanks.

Got the update for the A-36 on P3D and was wanting to know some info. When you go into the A-36 sim object folder you have a CAR430.exe and a RXP430.exe. When u double click these they ask if u want those to make changes on your computer. So are you supposed to open these to get the update. Please let me know if so. I would appreciate a response as apposed to everyone looking and giving no response. Thanks.

X Plane 182 HD G1000 MFD Problems

Hi

I am having trouble with the MFD in the new Carenado 182 G1000 v 1.2 for X Plane. Half the buttons don't appear to function and flight planning is a nightmare. I have installed the required data base and when I click on flight plan a huge list of airports appears in a list which the clear button doesn't remove. The G1000 PDF with the aircraft appears to be identical to the one included with the FSX version of the same aircraft which is not much help. In my opinion a dedicated X Plane G1000 PDF would have been nice. Has anyone else bought this yet?

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Cheers

Carenado B1900D paints for X-Plane?

$

Hello!

I completely fell in love with B1900D but Carenado provides little to none repaints. .org seems to lack liveries for it too.

Anyone knows of any source of, especially european airlines, liveries for this beautiful aircraft? Or some place I could request/commision a repaint?

Thanks in advance!
